During the 80s, in the mountains of Cerro de la Muerte in Cartago; Corporación Grupo
SAMSA de Centroamérica S.A took its first steps, with the blackberry’s commerce. Thanks
to its founder Juan José Quesada Garita. With the passage of time, and the acquisition
of knowledge in the food industry, Juan José noticed that the industry demanded more
variety of products, with the help of his wife and later with his children, they began a
new path towards product diversification including the marketing of exotic fruits.
These products covered the needs that were required at that time, and since that moment
on Corporación Grupo SAMSA de Centroamérica S.A became, until today, a pioneering and
innovating company in the commercialization of high-quality products with accessible
prices facilitating the consumers life.
Currently, Corporación Grupo SAMSA de Centroamérica S.A, is dedicated to the
commercialization of tamarind in different presentations, production of fruit mashed for
the industrial market, natural soft drinks and a wide variety of pulps, which include
more than 24 flavors.
Corporate Social Responsibility is a principle that has been in place since our
inception, since many years ago Mr. Juan José Quesada carried out different
environmental initiatives, with activities such as planting trees with school children.
Likewise, there has always been a commitment to collaborate with donations to social
welfare entities, such as Obras del Espíritu Santo, Casa Tzadic, Community Churches,
among others. Academic training courses have been developed for the people of the
community and there is full availability with educational institutions such as the
Technological Institute of Costa Rica, so that students can learn more about the food
industry.
In accordance with the above, in order to promote actions that promote Corporate Social
Development (DSE) and to mitigate the environmental impact and promote social
development, Samsa for Costa Rica emerged, which is a project that emerged to protect
the animal welfare, natural resources and promote social development.
In the search to create strategic alliances, which would allow us to provide support to
the proposed objectives, we have identified ourselves 100% with the Rescate Wildlife
Rescue Center project, since, due to our roots, animal protection and its participation
in the ecosystem is a main axis. Likewise, knowing the multiple requirements that they
have for the care of animals, Samsa for Costa Rica decided to participate in the great
challenges to make the dream of giving these animals a better quality of life come true,
either in the shelter or in their natural habitat.
Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center (formerly Zooave) is a non-profit foundation dedicated to
conserving the wildlife of Costa Rica. The Animal Sanctuary and Wildlife Rehabilitation
Center is the oldest of its kind with 30 years of experience in rehabilitation, breeding
of endangered species, habitat preservation and lifelong care of Animals that cannot
survive on their own. Only in 2021 they received the amount of 7,000 animals for their
attention and with the economic resources that can be obtained thanks to the visits of
people to the park, there is really little to face the great demand for animals.
